Speaking of pain and stiffness in different parts of the back – did you know that over 20% of people under 40 develop structural changes affecting the skeleton? And for persons over 40, the percentage becomes 60! Here we must consider a number of things that are quite common today that burden the spine.

Such as being overweight. Or the monotonous hours in a row spent in the same posture at work – say, standing or sitting at a desk, forced to lean forward. Or – for drivers – long journeys without the possibility of changing your body position, which creates tension in the back and waist. Of course, due to the mass immobilization, we can just “cut” when lifting weights or if we overexert the muscles of the spine when working on the weekend in the countryside or at the cottage – then, the problem is incidental, temporary and disappears in a day or two. But precisely because the causes of low back or back pain can be very different, we must seek medical advice and help. It may turn out that we have an initial stage of some insidious disease – discopathy, disc herniation, or stenosis. If not treated in time, they can lead to surgery and even invalidity.

There are  different methods we can choose in the treatment of pain in the back and waist – such as medication, Ayurveda medicine, and yoga for example, but this should be decided by the doctor. But, there is also a very universal and effective therapy that you can help yourself with at home – inversion.

It does not require much time – 5-7 minutes a day, but it is useful for example in the treatment of discopathy, as well as a number of other spinal problems. This therapy has helped and is helping millions of people around the world to find a natural way to relieve pain.

Exercises with the Teeter inversion table relax the muscles, rejuvenate the discs and joints, and release tension in the back and waist.

With them, you will strengthen the main muscles and you will increase your flexibility.

Thus, the Teeter  inversion table is a very suitable home device that helps you stretch and exercise regularly! When training, just climb on the table, relax every muscle in your body, let it rest completely, and let gravity take care of the rest.

Another type of dynamic training with the Teeter  inversionTeeter inversion table is the so-called full inversion of the body, with which you will perform other exercises such as abdominal presses or standing up, combined with squats.

Лежанки - Болки в гърба

Of course, when starting a new fitness endeavor or sport, it is good to consult a specialist in the field, and when using the inversion table, it is good to get information on whether it is suitable for your problem.

It is far from necessary to hang upside down. Over 50% of all customers using Teeter roll over completely because they like to enjoy extra freedom in stretching and playing sports. Others use smaller angles.

To decompress the spine, it is good to do the workout at 60 degrees. However, the benefits start at an angle below 20 degrees. And the adjustment strap allows you to easily set the angle of rotation so the table does not go beyond the desired position.

The Teeter inversion table is useful for exercises for back and waist pain, as well as for the treatment of stenosis or disc herniation.

It is easy to assemble – in fact it comes already set up to about 85% complete.

Inside the set, you get assembly tools as well as a disk with instructions on how to install your new inversion table model EP-950 Ltd. There are tips for stretching and exercises. There is also an additional disc, which contains some basic practices for a healthy spine by Dr. Sean, who also gives a 20-minute lesson on the device. Installation instructions, as well as the User’s Guide, can be downloaded from the website lejanki.bg. After use, simply fold the inversion table. It is easy to fold – its dimensions are: 50 x 74 x 168 cm (in the folded position). It occupies the most space in its unfolded position – 221 x 74 x 216 cm.

In short – Teeter inversion table: easy, fast and effective against back or waist pain, for healthy core muscles and a full life!

Back pain – a signal of dangerous diseases

Back pain is a common and widespread disease from which most people in the world (70% of the population) suffer at least once in their lives. It is often caused by discopathy, i.e. dehydration of the intervertebral disc, leading to chronic lumbar pain with acute episodes.

Discopathy – also known as degenerative disc disease, despite its name, is not a disease. This is a progressive condition that occurs over time from wear and tear or injury.

The discs on your back are located between the vertebrae of the spine. They act as cushions and shock absorbers. The discs help you stand up. They also help you move.

Discopathy – what are the risk factors?

Activities, such as weightlifting, constantly stress the intervertebral discs and are considered risk factors. Another major risk factor is standing in the same position for a long time. This can also cause discomfort, especially experienced during sports activities.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

To prevent the development of discopathy, avoid lifting too-heavy objects, especially with sharp movements, and try to strengthen the muscle wall.

You have an increased risk of back pain if:

– You do not play sports.

– If you engage in a high-impact activity without first stretching.

– If you are an adult.

– If you are obese.

– If you are a smoker.

– If you have arthritis.

Your emotional health also affects the risk of back pain. You may be at higher risk if you are in a stressful environment or depressed.

Causes of back pain

The most common causes of lower back pain are tension and problems with the structure of the back.

  • Tense and / or tired muscles

Tense muscles often cause back pain. Tension usually occurs when lifting heavy objects incorrectly and from sudden awkward movements.

Stress can also be the result of overactivity. An example is the inflamed feeling and stiffness that occurs after a few hours of work in the backyard or sports.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

  • Structural problems

The vertebrae are intertwined bones stacked on top of each other that make up the spine. Discs are areas of tissue that seal the space between each vertebra. Disc injuries are a fairly common cause of back pain. Occasionally, these discs may swell, herniate, or rupture. Nerves can compress when this happens.

Herniated discs can be very painful. The protruding disc presses on the nerve that travels from your back down your legs. This can cause sciatica and it can be experienced in your feet as:

– Pain

– Tingling

– Stiffness

– Arthritis

Spinal osteoarthritis is also a potential cause of back pain. It is caused by damage to and deterioration of the cartilage of the joints in the lower back. Over time, this condition can lead to narrowing of the spine or spinal stenosis.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

  • Osteoporosis

Loss of bone density and thinning of the bone, called osteoporosis, can lead to small fractures in your vertebrae. These fractures can cause severe pain and are called compression fractures.

Other causes of back pain and diagnosis

There are many other potential causes of back pain, but most are rare. Be sure to see your doctor if you experience regular back pain that does not go away quickly on its own.

Your doctor will examine your back to see if you have any problems. If he sees no signs of one of the more common diseases, he will perform a deeper test, which may include:

  • Taking an X-ray.
  • Blood and urine tests.
  • Computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging to assess discs, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels.
  • Bone scan to look for abnormalities in bone tissue.
  • Electromyography to examine nerve conduction.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

All this is to determine with certainty whether you have one of the rarer conditions, which may include:

  • Displacement of one vertebral body over another, called degenerative spondylolisthesis
  • Loss of nerve function in the lower part of the spine, called Cauda Equina syndrome (medical emergencies)
  • Fungal or bacterial infection of the spine, such as Staphylococcus, E. coli or tuberculosis
  • Cancer or non-malignant tumor in the spine
  • Kidney infection or kidney stones

Who experiences back pain?

Lower back pain, also called lumbago, is not a disorder. This is a symptom of several different types of health problems.

According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, 75 to 85 percent of Americans experience back pain in their lifetime. Of these, 50 percent have more than one episode in a year.

In 90 percent of all cases, the pain improves without surgery. Talk to your doctor if you have back pain.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

Exacerbated forms of discopathy can lead to osteoarthritis in the back. In this form of osteoarthritis, the vertebrae are rubbed together because there are no discs left to seal them. This can cause back pain and stiffness and severely limit the activities you can comfortably perform.

Exercise is essential for your overall health, but especially if you have back pain associated with discopathy.

Reduced mobility or immobility may increase the risk of:

  • Worsening pain
  • Decreased muscle tone
  • Reduced flexibility in the back
  • Blood clots in the legs
  • Depression.

Treatment options

Treatment, unfortunately, cannot eliminate degenerative damage, but it can certainly help reduce pain and reduce the risk of inflammation. Your doctor may recommend the following:

  • Physiotherapy. Exercise can help strengthen the muscles in your back and neck to reduce pain and improve your mobility and flexibility. Exercises focus on strengthening the core muscles that help support and stabilize your spine and back.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

  • Stretching. Slight stretching of the muscles of the neck, shoulders and upper back can help relieve tension and neck pain. Slight stretching of the muscles of the back, thighs and hip joint can help relieve lower back pain. Your physiotherapist will teach you a few stretches that you can do at home.
  • Injections. The drug is injected directly into the facet joints next to the damaged disc and can help relieve pain, inflammation and general discomfort. Injections provide only temporary relief so their effect will disappear over time.
  • urgery. If you have severe pain that is not relieved by the treatment options mentioned above, you may need surgery. There are 2 surgical procedures that your doctor may suggest:

Disc replacement operation. During the procedure, your surgeon will remove the damaged spinal disc and replace it with an artificial one. Replacement surgery can reduce or even completely eliminate back pain.

Spinal fusion surgery. During the procedure, your surgeon will remove the damaged disc and protect the adjacent vertebrae. Spinal fusion can reduce pain and improve your mobility.

Болките в гърба – сигнал за опасни заболявания

If you have decided to have surgery, your doctor will tell you which procedure is best for your condition and the risks involved.

Additionally, you may need to make some lifestyle changes to reduce pain and keep your spine healthy, including losing weight (if necessary), exercising, doing stretching exercises regularly, and keeping your spine straight by practicing good posture and sitting in the correct position.

Injections for low back pain

No one wants to have an injection for back pain, but sometimes there are situations where this approach is necessary. Medicinal solutions injected directly into the source of the problem not only eliminate the acute pain, but also help the patient to recover faster and switch to other treatments and preventative measures, such as physiotherapy, to completely cure back pain. Inversion table – instructions for use

Inversion therapy has been known as an effective treatment for more than 2,000 years, and although it is still considered an alternative treatment, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have already found long-term relief from back, neck, and other chronic pain problems by practicing this ancient technique.

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

What is inverse therapy?

In short, inversion therapy is a technique for stretching the spine by hanging upside down. This takes away the gravitational pressure on the nerve roots and spinal discs. In fact, many cases of upper and lower back pain are caused by compression of the spinal cord. This is a condition known as spinal compression.

From birth, our bodies (especially our spinal cord) are affected by gravity. This invisible force puts pressure on our joints, bones, muscles, and ligaments.

The combination of gravity and muscle imbalance forces our vertebrae to press on the spinal discs. Inside, there is a jelly-like substance called synovial fluid that acts as a shock absorber and provides both flexibility and cushioning.

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

Under the influence of gravity, part of this fluid exits during the day into the surrounding tissues and only part of it is reabsorbed while we sleep at night. (This is why we become shorter as we age.) When the space between the vertebrae decreases, it can cause pressure on the nerve roots and pain.

What’s worse is that this pressure is often uneven, which often results in disc herniations. And hence the unpleasant chronic pain in the back and lower back. Inversion therapy comes to the rescue here. It decompresses and stretches the spine, relieving pressure and increasing the space between the spinal discs.

What conditions does inversion therapy treat?

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

Inversion therapy has been shown to help relieve many forms of back and neck pain, including the following:

  • disc herniation
  • chronic low back pain
  • neck pain
  • muscle tension in the back
  • joint dysfunction
  • spondylolisthesis
  • sciatica
  • scoliosis
  • varicose veins, etc.

How to use an inversion table?

Lie down and fasten to it to make sure you don’t fall over when you roll over. You can then bend down until your head is lower than your heart.

It is good to use the device under the guidance of your physiotherapist or in a clinic. There they can show you exactly how to do the exercises and watch you as you roll over to the starting position. If you are younger and do not have any cardiovascular problems, you can use such a device at home, but you need to follow the following safety tips:

  • Have someone watch you. Do not hang upside down on an inversion table without a stopper. Ask someone to help you in case you can’t get back into an upright position.
  • Do not lean back completely. Try just standing at an angle of 30 degrees or just 10 degrees if you are an adult.
  • Tighten the belts. Use seat belts or belts to prevent slipping off the device’s seat.
  • Do the exercise for a short time. When you do it for the first time, try to stay upside down for no more than 1 or 2 minutes once a day to see how you are feeling. Limit inversion table sessions to 5 minutes twice a day.
  • Tilt slowly. After doing so, slowly return to an upright position. If you pull too fast, you can cause muscle spasms or back pain.
  • Combine exercise with other therapies. This therapy can be more effective if you stretch and become flexible. Talk to your physiotherapist or doctor.

Possible side effects and interactions

Inversion tables lead to a slowing of the heart rate and an increase in blood pressure. You will feel the pressure in the eyeballs increase. Because of these effects, there is a risk if you have high blood pressure, glaucoma or other eye disease, heart disease, a history of stroke, hiatal hernia, inner ear problems, or are pregnant.

If you have arthritis in your knee or hip problems, using an inversion table can put you at risk of injuring your joints.

Consult your doctor before using such a device. Make sure this therapy is safe for you.

How to start with inversion therapy?

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

Your first step is to choose an inversion device. The most suitable in this case is the  inversion table.

You do NOT need to be in a completely inverted position to take advantage of inversion therapy, so experts recommend an inversion table that allows you to control your degree of inversion.

It will take some time before your body can control complete inversion.

Exercises with the inversion table

During the first 2 weeks:

Adjust the inversion table so that you reach a 20 to 30-degree bend for 1 to 2 minutes, once or twice a day. Slowly increase your time until you feel comfortable with the process and position. The best way to find out if you are getting used to the inversion device is if you can relax while using it.

Partial inversion after 2 weeks:

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

A partial inversion is considered to be any bend with the inversion table up to 60 degrees, which is parallel to the rear legs of the device. See if you can work up to 15 minutes, once or twice a day.

Here are two basic ways to turn:

  1. Static inversion: This is when you hold at the desired angle and do not move from this position.
  2. Intermittent inversion: This involves the use of a swinging motion, alternating 20 to 30 seconds in the inverted position and 20 to 30 seconds in the upright position. Some people believe that the pumping action gives the best results. You will need to experiment to see which way is most convenient and works best for you.

Full inversion after 2 weeks:

Инверсна лежанка – инструкции за употреба

This is when your body is completely inverted and hanging freely. It is recommended to hang for 5 to 15 minutes twice a day. The time it takes to endure a complete inversion will depend on your ability to adjust to the position; everyone is different, so act slowly.

Once you can endure a complete inversion, you can start adding new exercises.

Be patient and consistent when using the inversion table – this is a device that can be used for a lifetime to maintain optimal health. So make it a habit to use it consistently. Because in addition to relieving pain, which of course is the main reason to use inversion therapy, it has other positive health benefits.

  • Maintains your height – using the inverter regularly will help you avoid the “shrinkage” that naturally occurs as a result of lifelong gravity.
  • Improves blood flow – through inversion, gravity helps the lymphatic system to clear faster, relieving pain in stiff muscles.
  • Relieves stress – everyone knows that stretching the whole body rejuvenates! The inversion table provides the same feeling of relaxation as yoga – with much less effort. Many people find that they sleep better with regular inversion therapy.
  • Increases mental acuity – any activity upside down increases the supply of oxygen to the brain, which according to many experts helps maintain mental acuity.
  • Increases flexibility and range of motion – with inversion, your joints remain strong and elastic, which means you can stay as active as you were in your younger years.
  • Improves posture – the stretching that comes with reversing the force of gravity on the body helps you sit, stand, and move with greater ease and grace. It returns the spine to its natural state which changed due to prolonged monotonous activities at work, sports, etc.

How to counter lack of activity

Modern equipment and technologies greatly facilitate our daily lives, but also lead to a significant shortcoming in the way of life. They are associated with both general poor health and specific diseases.

Обездвижване на работа в офиса | Lejanki.bg

People hardly need any more vigorous physical activity. Studies show that a quarter of Europeans get very limited exercise and are below optimal health levels. For humans, movement is vital – for energy expenditure and to maintain full vital functions.

Just one example is enough – physical activity improves blood circulation. And, among other things, it is related to hydration and brain activity. That is – with the activity of the whole organism.

Lack of activity is a prerequisite for a number of specific diseases of the spine and bone system, as well as diabetes and mental problems such as depression, etc.

Fitness exercises are a very good way to compensate for the limited movement in everyday life. It is a kind of universal sport for people of different ages, abilities, and attitudes.

Fitness exercises allow you, without heavy weights used by professional athletes, to achieve the overall effect of the sport – health, tight body, toned muscles, good self-esteem, and elevated mood.

Of course, if desired and possible, one can conduct more intense and specialized training – for example, for muscle development.

Fitness exercises can also be used for medical purposes, and of course in this case one should consult a doctor about their use.

Appropriate fitness exercises can be used to improve cardiovascular function and respiration; for rehabilitation after trauma; and in the treatment of chronic diseases. For the treatment of back and lower back pain, for example, it is very effective to use Emer and Teeter inversion tables.

For exercises for discopathy and stenosis, it is especially important to relieve tension in the spine in order to rehabilitate the discs and joints.

“Lazy” and effective therapy with inversion tables

Inversion tables have been used for decades around the world. They are very popular because they are a fitness system that can be used for a flexible body, to tone the body, and for relief from stress, as well as for the treatment of back and lower back pain. They are useful, for example, in the fight against discopathy.

Мъж тренира надолу с главата | Lejanki.bg

People with excruciating chronic back and lower back pain can use an inversion  tableinversion table, because this fitness device has a beneficial effect even when used “lazily”. It is enough to lie in a relaxed forward position with your head tilted.

The use of inversion tables , as with other fitness exercises for rehabilitation, should be discussed with and approved by your doctor, because the action is based on inversion therapy.

It is possible that the person should not lie down or hang upside down due to some health conditions, so the doctor will determine whether to you can use inversion tables for therapy.

Generally speaking, with the use of inversion tables , people turn gravity to their advantage. In the upright or sitting position, the earth’s gravity loads the spine.

In certain conditions – such as disease that changes the structure of the intervertebral discs and narrows some channels in the spine – there is friction and pain.

When turned upside down, gravity “stretches” the body and increases the distance between the vertebrae in the spine. Decompression is obtained, which is useful for the rehabilitation of the discs.

It is not necessary to turn the body completely upside down to get the effect of decompression. When using inversion tables , you can simply lie relaxed, and the reduction of tension in the spine begins with a tilt of the head forward of 20 degrees. At 60 degrees, the spine is completely released from the tension.

The effect is fast and the activities do not need to be intense – 7 minutes a day are enough to achieve an excellent result.

General health promotion

Once the back and lower back pain is gone, the use of inversion tables can be continued with more intense exercises to develop the main muscles of the back and abdomen, for a tight and flexible body.

In fact, for this purpose, inversion tables can generally be used by healthy people without back and waist problems, and the effect of inversion therapy can be applied prophylactically. Because – by the way – structural changes in the spine begin around the age of 30 and back or lower back pain is very common.

Щастливо семейство с дете | Lejanki.bg

Being overweight, improper posture during long sitting at the computer, and unchanged posture while driving, etc., are all common factors in everyday life that lead to low back or back pain. As a fitness device, the use of  inversionof inversion tables makes it possible to combine upright sitting, abdominal presses, and twists. The fact that it is at-home fitness is an advantage – the activities are when a person decides, what he decides, and how much he decides.

In addition to developing core muscles and a tight body without extra pounds, exercise has other beneficial physiological effects for overall health.

Faster burning of calories speeds up metabolism; physical activity improves the activity of the heart and blood circulation, dilates blood vessels, and achieves a better supply of oxygen to cells. This is useful for slowing down aging.

Muscle training and increased physical endurance are associated with a reduced likelihood of injury and faster recovery if they do occur. In addition, after exercise, sleep becomes healthier and fuller.

Fitness workouts also have a direct psychological effect. They produce the so-called “happiness hormone” – endorphin, which improves mood and is essential for shaking off stress.

Exercise also has a long-term psychological effect – setting goals and achieving them brings self-satisfaction and higher self-esteem. For which, by the way, a good figure and the achieved vitality are enough.

Fitness is not from today

When did the gym start? In a broader sense – since man had to chase his prey every day to eat because he did not have a refrigerator to store meat…

And seriously – the prototype of today’s fitness gym comes from the middle of the 19th century. The first equipment, the principles of which are still used in modern fitness, was made by Gustav Zander – a Swedish physiotherapist. They were wooden with levers, springs and weights to provide resistance.

Първите фитнес уреди | Lejanki.bg

Zander was a highly educated physician. At the age of 30, he became a doctor of medical sciences. In 1875, he received one of the highest Swedish orders at the time for his contributions to science.

He believed that specialized loads on certain muscles could prevent a number of diseases. So the idea of fitness came about with the idea of prevention, which is the case today. Zander called his method “Mechanotherapy.”

Gustav Zander invented his first fitness equipment in 1857, creating a total of 70 types. They made it possible to place the load on a given muscle group. They were introduced in 1864 at the Gymnastics Institute in Stockholm and are in fact the basis of today’s fitness equipment.

A year later, Zander, now with a doctorate, opened the Medical-Mechanical Institute in Stockholm – an absolute novelty for the world then but in fact a prototype of today’s gyms.

The institute had only its equipment, each specialized in certain loads, but the women and men were in separate rooms. Among the devices were those for straightening the spine of children with scoliosis.

“Fitness mania” quickly took over the leading resorts in Europe and America, and gained its creator world fame, and mass production began. Gustav Zander’s devices were also in many clinics, where Zander institutes were opened. In 1911, there were already 300 “gyms” in the world. Hardly anyone can say how many there are today.

See what will help you with back pain

Do you know the reason why Roger Teeter founded the world-famous Teeter Company today? Because for 5 years, he had great back problems, but he found a way to get rid of them.

On his worst mornings, he had to crawl to the bathroom to cover his back with hot water so he could work during the day. This happened after an accident, which also had professional consequences for his water skiing profession. Eventually, however, he discovered that turning the body upside down could relieve back pain and he set out on a path of recovery.

Realizing how much inversion therapy helps, he decided to set up a company to produce inversion products.

So in 1981, Roger Teeter and his wife Jennifer started the company, and this was the beginning of Teeter Hang Ups – the extremely popular Teeter  inversionTeeter inversion tables. For decades, they have been the market leader in inversion equipment for the home, with clinical and commercial fitness purposes. And the company’s success is no accident – Roger Teeter is a graduate engineer with over 50 years of experience in the development of sports and fitness equipment. He has led more than 200 projects to develop new products for other companies, including many medical and dental products.

Teeter  inversionTeeter inversion tables are useful in treating back and lower back pain. They have helped and are helping millions to find natural relief. And training does not take much time – you only need 7-minute exercises a day with the inversion table to treat low back pain. Teeter inversion tables are useful for the successful treatment of stenosis and can be used in the treatment of discopathy. With the inversion table, you will build strong core muscles by doing exercises with your body in the inverted position. Of course, before you start training with the inversion table, it is highly recommended to consult at least with your doctor to verify that you do not have any disease that is contraindicated for hanging upside down.

By the way, the benefits of these exercises for back pain start at the small angle of 20 degrees, and you can set angles of 20, 40 or 60 degrees. Plus, the adjustment strap allows you to easily set the angle of rotation so would not go beyond the desired position. However, it is interesting to note that over 50% of people who use Teeter roll over completely (the so-called 90-degree “lock”) on a daily basis, as they like to enjoy extra freedom in sports and stretching. And it’s easy – just follow three steps: Adjust the height; Secure; Lean down and start. The Teeter is so precisely balanced that it gives you complete control over your rotation for maximum comfort. Adjust the device to one of the preset rotation angles and relax, gravity will do its part.

For a more intense workout, the inversion table can “lock” you in a position of complete body rotation, so you will have the opportunity to do abdominal presses, you will be able to raise up to a sitting position and do squats. The disc for installation and use comes with the  inversionthe inversion table, model EP-950 Ltd. It contains tips for exercises and stretching. Eliminate back pain with Teeter inversion tables

Back and lower back pain are common, but also often overlooked. They happen for various reasons, so we easily find an explanation / excuse not to go to the doctor.

Дискова херния

We tell ourselves that we have either “strained ourselves” during the repairs at home, or work in the yard, or we have stayed for a long time in an unchanged position while driving, leaning over the desk, or standing by the assembly line, or we have lifted something heavy, etc.

Until it turns out that they were a signal of an insidious disease. Then our life becomes a nightmare. We can literally become numb, immobilized by the pain, and feel weakened and depressed.

In this situation, we need to seek appropriate treatment for back and lower back pain, which might now even require surgery.

Whatever the cause, especially if the pain occurs periodically, you should consult your doctor without delay.

If he prescribes treatment, ask him if you can use Teeter inversion tables. They are very suitable for exercises for back and lower back pain.

You need to find out from the doctor if you have any contraindications to inversion therapy – hanging upside down or lying at an angle. If you do not have a health problem that is holding you back, take advantage of the EP-950TM  inversion table.

Treatment of back and lower back pain with Holistic Ayurvedic Medicine

Ayurveda considers this problem in two aspects – imbalance of Vata energy and imbalance in the Kafa-Vata system.

Vata imbalance – this is associated with acute back and lower back pain

Kafa-Vata imbalance – this is associated with chronic constant pain

Mamsam (muscles), majja (nerves) and ashthi (bones) are the three structures that, if affected, will cause a feeling of back and lower back pain, according to Ayurveda.

This is taken into account when planning Panchakarma therapy. The leading imbalance is in the Vata energy, which is why therapies focus mainly on it. Oil therapies are mainly used with oil as the main balancing agent.

The treatment of back and lower back pain according to Ayurveda is carried out with the following therapies:

Snehana (external and internal body therapy with oil)

  • Abhyamgam – body therapy with oil
  • Pizichil – royal bath with body oil
  • Abhyantra snehapanam – taking ghee with herbs internally.

Swedana (use of healing heat to better penetrate the energy of medical oil into the body)

  • Herbal steam bath – medicinal herbs are placed in the steaming water
  • Churnapindasweda – therapy with warm cotton bags in which there are herbal powders

Sneha shirodhara (Therapy aimed at the head and brain, where according to Ayurveda are the causes of back and lower back pain)

Vasti (oil enema, which is the main balancing therapy for Vata energy imbalance)

  • Yogavasti – a combination of 5 enemas with oil and 3 with added healing decoction.

Medications, ointments or exercises for low back pain?

Рязка болка в гърба причини | Lejanki

You feel good, you go to work, you do your housework… Then, one day you bend down to pick something up from the floor, you turn sharply to see where your child is and suddenly you have low back pain. It is so strong that you instinctively grab your waist and look for some support so as not to fall. You are looking for a place to lie down. You run out of air, it hurts so much, and you panic because you’ve heard that older people suffer from discopathy.

Wondering how back or lower back pain came on so suddenly?

If you feel a little better, we will tell you that you will not be the first to have back or waist problems. Neither will you be the last.

According to statistics, it turns out that low back pain is one of the most common complaints and is the most common cause that leads to disability.

According to data released by the World Health Organization, between 60 and 80% of the world’s population suffers from low back pain. The population of the USA is most affected, where every 8 out of 10 people experience chronic lumbar pain or suffer from discopathy, but in our country the situation is not at all rosy, either.

The reasons…

The causes of back and lower back pain are varied – from overexertion, awkward posture, accident, and improper lifting of heavy objects, to wearing down of the intervertebral discs, etc., etc.

Sometimes the pain can go away as it came without any treatment, but if you don’t pay attention, it can come back and become chronic. And then the treatment will be much longer and more difficult.

Treatment of low back pain – what helps and what does not?

Nowadays, if something hurts, we first resort to medicines and ointments, simply because we are used to running to the pharmacy every time.

But will they help with low back pain, or is it a good idea to try a natural method such as inversion therapy?

Причини за болката в гърба | Lejanki

Let’s see…

We mentioned that the causes of back and lower back pain can be many, but if we remove the degenerative diseases that are severe and require invasive treatment, the main causes in 90% of cases of lumbar pain are insufficient physical activity, uncomfortably still posture at work, and lifting heavy weights in gyms.

Therefore, if you increase your physical activity and start doing the right exercises, your pain will disappear not only quickly, but also without poisoning your body with chemicals.

We know that if you are in a lot of pain, you think that if you take a miracle pill or apply some ointment and lie still, everything will be fine.

However, a Guardian study shows that immobility in low back or back pain not only does not help, but also harms. The English daily also points out that exercise is the only way to fight discopathy and lumbar pain.

Why are inversion table exercises so effective for low back pain?

It is human nature to be active. When you spend 10 to 12 hours in a sitting position, your body becomes static . As you continue to not move enough, the cruciate ligaments that connect the pelvis, waist, and femurs shorten. The moment you bend over, get up abruptly or twist your body, you feel pain in your back or lower back, as the shortened muscles pull on your waist.

Inversion table exercises for low back pain move the body without straining it, balance the muscular ligaments in the front and back of the body, and relieve pain. The exercises are non-strenuous, easy to perform, and are recommended for anyone who has back or lower back problems.

Ointments and gels – advantages and disadvantages

Билки при болки в гърба и кръста | Lejanki

You have seen and heard countless ads for ointments and gels that are recommended for lumbar pain.

Do they really have the desired effect or is it just a publicity stunt?

The truth is that ointments and gels can relieve your condition, but the effect is only temporary.

All ointments and gels are analgesics and have anti-inflammatory action, which explains their effect. They are applied topically, on the places where you feel pain. There are ointments that contain active ingredients such as dimethyl sulfoxide and chondroitin, which slow down the degeneration process and help restore cartilage. Their action improves tissue regeneration, hematomas close, and blood flow is restored. As a result, your pain decreases or disappears and you feel good.

Unfortunately, the effect of the ointments as we mentioned is only temporary and when you stop applying, the old situation of pain and discomfort will return, in time.

It gets a little more complicated here…

If you decide (still) to reduce pain with medication, never self-medicate or “prescribe” treatment yourself.

The drugs that are prescribed to treat discopathy are analgesics. Analgesics are a group of medicines that can reduce or eliminate pain. So far so good.

But гети analgesics are divided into two types: narcotic and non-narcotic. Narcotic drugs are most often derived from opium, which is not only not a very useful ingredient for health, but can also cause many side effects such as drowsiness, fatigue, problems with the intestinal system, addiction, and more. The risk of addiction to painkillers is really huge!

According to the director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention CDC – Dr. Thomas Friedon, narcotic drugs prescribed for low back pain increase the risk of heroin addiction. An overdose of painkillers killed 16,000 people in the United States in 2013 alone.

Therefore, most specialists avoid prescribing narcotic analgesics or prescribe them only when absolutely necessary.

Non-narcotic drugs are also divided into two types: nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have a triple action: they deal with infectious inflammation, lower body temperature, and eliminate pain (aspirin, paracetamol, beralgin, betadine, etc. fall into this group). This type of medication is available without a prescription.

It seems that the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs will work for you, right?

Unfortunately, these drugs also have side effects. With prolonged use, they disrupt the work of the gastrointestinal tract, irritating the lining of the stomach and intestines. There are cases when prolonged use causes ulcers, bone marrow damage, etc. To neutralize these side effects, you will need to take more medications to calm your stomach, and eventually, instead of eliminating the back pain, you will get a bunch of other diseases.

For low back pain, hormonal preparations are prescribed, which reduce the pain, but also have side effects such as increased appetite, insomnia, extra hair, sudden mood swings, and more.

What turns out in the end?

There is nothing better than natural methods to eliminate back and lower back pain. Combine inversion therapy exercises with short walks; replace the mattress you sleep on; if your work involves plenty of sitting, get an ergonomic desk chair; or get an anatomical seat if you are driving. Follow a healthy diet and avoid prolonged inactivity in one position.

Ointments can help you only temporarily, and it is better not to rely on drugs, because no matter how great their benefits, the greater their harm to your body.

Exercises for discopathy or low back pain, however, will help you deal with the problem in a completely natural way and without poisoning your body with painkillers.

Get rid of back and lower back pain in time!

Лежанки - Болки в гърба

Back and lower back pain can cause enormous discomfort if it is associated with a disease of the spine. We experience them in these diseases as well as in diseases of the liver, spleen, and more.

Therefore, if they appear, we should not wait for them to pass by themselves. We need to seek medical help to understand what they are about and have the appropriate treatment prescribed.

If they are connected to the spine, there is a home fitness device that is especially useful in treating back and lower back pain. It is easy to use and allows for various exercises – both passive and active.

It also has a strong psychological advantage – you use it at home in comfort and privacy, when and how you choose. Without other people watching you, like in the gym, let’s say – and without your health problems becoming public knowledge.

It is enough to find a few minutes a day several times a week for exercise and you will quickly feel the difference.

We are talking about Teeter inversion tables. Ask your doctor if you can use them.

When using them for passive exercises, you just lie comfortably relaxed at the angle you choose – 20, 40 or 60 degrees, with your head downward. You can also turn your body 90 degrees and hang upside down.

If your doctor decides that you do not have any health contraindications stopping you from lying down or hanging like this, use Teeter tables.

They are based on inversion therapy in which gravity works for your treatment. When the connections between the vertebrae of the spine are loosened, there is subsidence, friction, and nerve endings begin to be compressed.

The main thing about using Teeter tables is that it relieves the tension in the spine, resting the worn vertebrae and the discs between them, and helping to restore them.

Thus, the exercises are useful in already existing diseases – including in the treatment of discopathy or stenosis. The fact that they also reduce the stress of our daily routines and lifestyle should not be overlooked either.

As mentioned, these rehabilitation exercises do not take much time – it is enough to hang upside down between 5 and 7 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week.

By the way, you don’t have to hang – the beneficial effect of the released tension starts at less than 20 degrees and is already full at 60 degrees.

For more active exercises, you can squat, raise up to a sitting position, or do abdominal presses. This helps to build healthy core muscles (those in the back and abdomen) which increases flexibility.

The currently available inversion table, model EP-950, is suitable for a wide range of users. It is almost universal – it can be used by people with a height of 1.46 to 2 meters and weight of up to 135 kilograms! There are only a few who do not fit this range of sizes.

The table is also easy to assemble – it comes over 85% assembled, with mounting tools, instructions, and a disc for use. Once assembled, it then folds in only seconds to a size of 0.5 by 0.74 by 1.68 m and easily fits into most storage spaces. Its carries a full 5-year warranty for all components.

In short – it’s easy and effective against back and lower back pain – get rid of them in time!

Does yoga help with low back pain?

Low back pain can initially appear out of nowhere – you sit in the office all day, then on the couch in the living room and watch TV, and the discomfort in your lower back does not give you peace. However, you should know that it is this prolonged sitting that has caused tension in the lower back and the pain is only the beginning.

However, lower back pain does not spare people whose daily lives are filled with excessive movement, even athletes. Because any sport or exercise with weights, or which includes running, jumping, or fast dynamic movements, creates tension in the lower back. When these activities are repeated over time without proper stretching and release of the most stressed muscles, severe injuries can occur.

Research shows that yoga or focused body stretching can help reduce lower back pain, while also helping to reduce stress and improve sleep.
